Short Description: Elevator fiberglass tips
|
The fiberglass elevator tips were somewhat deformed from being moved around and stored for the last ten years (they were kind of sunken and collapsed). I thought if I put them in a warm oven (170 degrees) for a few minutes I would be able to re-form them to a better shape to fit snug in the ends of the elevators. It worked quite well. I stuffed some paper towells inside them while warm and then ran cold water over them to lock them into shape. This may help avoid excess filling and sanding. I plan to start fiberglassing all the tips in the next few weeks.
