Worked on a number of avioincs issues, setups and questions. Mostly not a very productive afternoon:
Not getting any sounds to headset from AFS...sound files are playing as test, volume is 100%, no sound in headset.
Ditto for GTX330 transponder. Got into set up menu.....hold FUNC and turn ON at same time. Step through menu pages. Maxed out volume, made sure messages were "on", did test tones...nothing came through. Also had turned up volume in VP thinking there may be some interaction. Guess I'll try to query Jeff at Aerotronics for some clues. Really want to have "timer expired" and "Traffic" able to be heard.
Interesting discovery as I worked for several hours in the panel... the dreaded open squelch like background noise I had been getting on COM1 (now) appears to be coming from battery minder. As the battery voltage dropped, the charger must of ramped up the charge and that created a RX signal on COM1 and lots of background noise. Was able to duplicate and isolate the trouble. I also had other issues yesterday with the squelch but got that straigthened out, I think.
Fine tuned some AP settings per flight notes.
Fooled with AFS fuel computer a bit.....I just don't understand adjusting gallons remaining versus fuel used....seems like I adjust one and the other is off the same amount the other way. Zeroed out fuel used as I can read fuel remaining from the tank gauges. Will let is go for a while
