reinstall battery covers; covers back to elev tunnel and torque tube cover; hat rack back in; replaced several rivnuts/nutplates; wire loom tubes back in; misc cleaning; test ELT...FAIL
ELT goes off when in ARMED or ON positions, without jarring unit. Pulled unit from all aircraft wiring...still triggers.
Pulled ELT out to test or replace. Have not had good luck with this ACK E-04 unit. Will research using another brand if I can tie into exsitng wiring and controls.
UPDATE... in reading more in the manual, the ELT goes into a test mode when turned to armed or on. Gives 3 sweeps on 121.50 and a specially test coded 406 burst. Will do test again as I did not let it go 3 sweeps. I didn't expect the ELT to go off until I pushed the test button. All part of the experiement!
