Screwed up window application. After fitting windows, started to drill #11 holes to keep windows in place during bonding. Drilled 2 windows and started the 3rd until we realized we should not of been drilling through the plexi, but rather 1/4" outside through the fusleage frame. Manual clearly calls this out (of course, we do not look at the manual during Builder Assist). Builder assist process, despite all its benefits, moves quickly and you are being pulled through the process. Had a consultation with Justin and 2 engineers. In the end decided to trash windows and start over...about 3 times $200. Lancair ate it graciously .
Lost some time with this, but eliminated a serious, time-consuming potential fix later as the windows are bonded and BID'd into the fuselage.
