Brief Description:  work on aileron tubes and rigging

Well, my goal was to hook up the aileron crossover tube in the fuselage and rig the ailerons to plus 20 and minus 12/14 degrees..seemed easy enough. After much fitting and fooling I determined that the right inboard aileron tube is 2.5" too long. I guess that is better than too short. Not sure what happened there. Either I miscalculated the rod end subtraction or the bellcrank was not in the neutral position when I measured and cut the inboard rod.

Couldn't get it out through the fuselage end but was able to get it out of the tip end after cutting two slots in the access panel flange to help with the clearance.

Need to order another 057-03 rod end, cut 2.5" off the rod and re-rivit the rod end on. Hopefully I can get the rod back in through the wing access panel. Re-attached and tightened all the inside connections for the ailerons. Also adjusted the 1/2" steel push rods that go from the bellcrank to the aileron itself. That worked out OK.
