Was hoping to test fly today but wx was not good for such. Feeling emboldened from yesterday's success', and with an afternoon with nothing to do, I decided to put the backup UMA AS indicator back in and also the alt static port. Put Alt static back in first and the static leak test failed. Plugged that line and replumbed pitot and static lines to BU airspeed. Could not get a good static test. Took AS back out and redid static test. Took me a while to get a good, stable test again but I did.
So, no forward progress today. If I get some down time I will but just put the Alt Static back in and retest. I have a blank cover plate that I will put over the backup airspeed indicator. With multiple GPS sources, I feel OK without the backup airspeed. May try to use some silicone to seal face plate and test just the airspeed indicator outside of the system. These cheap UMA indicators apparrently have a history of the glass seal failing.
