Brief Description:  Flt #8 and clear squawks; misc. maintenance

Continue research on radio noise issue; believe it mostly was audio panel squelch and not radios or antenna. Adjusted and tested...will continue to watch and evalualte whether belly exterior antenna is needed. Climb at Vx - 85k, flaps up at 1000'...to 105 and continue climb. AFS, VP and G330 sounds seem to be coming through fine and at a good volume. Still don't know what the beeping is from AP annuciator. Tried lean find from AFS....#1 seemed to peak at 1474 although there was no clear signal that is was peak. Enriched 100 degrees to 1375. CHTs in low 300s...never over 400 even when leaning. Hot hazy day out. Got bumpy until I got back around 1030. AP heading mode tested from AFS but I think it will be easier to use the AP itself for "fly heading", etc. Still have some overshoot and hunting on GPSS turns, and while trying to fly a heading. Prob an adjustment in AP...will check out and make prelim. adjustment on ground before next flight. Attempted ADI calibration...climb at 85K turn adj. screww looking for AS to flash....turned full clockwise with no joy (95k in climb). ADI still indicated left turn and no DG heading. More research. May fly it level at 85-90 knots next time.....less touchy and a better/safer attitude. VP phases seem to be working. Oil leak is much better, maybe gone. Will add some torque to 45 degree fitting on side. Might of just had residual oil (not much at all) but rag behind filter had some oil soaked into it, but not completely soaked as before. 7.5 qts as it was at start. Adjusted high yellow fuel psi ...still got fuel pressure warning on descent with mixture enrichened. Raised hi yellow to 38 from 32...had only raised red and max gauge on Monday. Landed at KTHV...not bad with mild crosswind (10k at 280 on RW 35). Downloaded AFS data for further anlaysis and backed up AFS settings to map cards. Checked and topped off air in tires. Need a better way to do mains...better fitting and a way to get a pressure gauge on the stem
