Researching the problem with the front aileron support brackets from yesterday, I discovered that the manual calls for the wrong part, and does so many times, in text and in diagrams. After scanning/researching the packing list, I found that the correct part is #1105, not 4080. Yup, 2 #1105's in the parts box.
Removed old parts with a heat gun and a screwdriver... really amazing how easily the parts came off with a 1500W heat gun...several minutes each side.
Probably spent 2 - 2.5 hours yesterday and messing with this problem cause by errors in the manual, and doing it twice.
Justin at Lancair was rather matter of fact about it, and didn't seem to care about the errors in the manual or the inconvenience.
