The more I crawled around the fuselage lately, the less I liked the way I originally did the Aeroquip fittings on the fuel lines. They are a bear to get on, especially the big, -8 ones. The thin blue nut should be drawn down to the red fitting with very little gap. Some of mine had gaps that I now considered too big. I think I was originally afraid to bear down on them in fear of breaking them or stripping the threads. I also think they got easier to seat after they set for a while (been about 2 years)?
Did all the fittings including the fun ones up on the firewall! Blew out the hoses with shop air, reassembled, and taped up loose ends in wing root.
