More head scracthing time with defroster/heat system. Only installed 1 cable in panel for heat-defrost. There are two separate valves as it turns out... one that lets heat from the exhaust muffs in, and a second that controls the mix of the heat-defrost between the two. Still gathering opinions and thinking about how to deal with it. Will likley add another cable, somewhere off the panel, to control the mix between heat & defrost.
lay up holes for defroster; drilled 1/4" holes, 1" on center.. that leaves about 3/8" between holes as called for in the manual. Manual says 3/8" holes but there is no way. 1/4" worked well.
Grind between drilled holes with tapered perma-grit; final shape and touch up with round hand permagrit. See pic #2.
Trim defroster close out piece to allow for 1/2" flange; drill cleco holes
