Brief Description: Day #1 Builder Assist - Left wing
After brief orientation and safety lecture, Bob Carter and I met our mentor for the week Adam ______. Nice kid, good demeanor. Began work on left wing section. Fuel tanks sealed, skins and spar and spar caps to be sanded in prep for closing. A couple of "ah shits" but nothing that we couldn't fix, and we did. The quality of the wing skins and FB work appeared to be excellent. Sixth fuel bay added to bring capacity to about 105 gallons; fill cap moved out to 6th bay Touched up fuel tank sealer spots that were hit with sander and used a light and mirror to check for thin spots in the sealer....add add'l sealer to fill in. Speed brake pocket (LW) is in and AOA rough in is set (in left wing). Test fitted ailerons and flaps on both left and right wing. Generally a good fit, some extra work needed on right side flap; sand off O/B corner for better clearance and more uniform gap to aileron.
