another perfect painting day! Had to work in a few hours of work on the road, but got the primer shot on the HS first thing this morning. 24 oz of grey base, 6 oz of catalyst; started with .6 nozzle but switched to .7. No reducer...may try to add some next time. There was some clogging in the sprayer...when I cleaned it, there was lots of old junk. Top vent hole was plugged pretty good. Gave it a good cleaning.. if it doesn't work better the next time, I will invest in a new sprayer. This one is over 20 years old.... Porter & Miller Associates!
Paint thinner doesn't work on this stuff, just gums it up. Used MEK... cuts it just fine. Wore the respirator the whole time.
2 hours of total time, of which 15 minutes or less was actually spraying...good hour of clean-up
Came out pretty good. The WLS works very well on vertical surfaces as it is so thick. Shot the HS standing on end. May do wings that way too
