The manual calls for decoring 2 inches from each side of the aileron bulkhead closeout. Wel, the flange in the fuselage itself is 2 inches wide and the decoring needed to be micro'd and 2 BID'd. This left the close out panel elevated about 1/8". Evaluated several options for a fix....1 do over, 2 grind out clearance, 3 build up outisde 1" of flange in fuselage to accept panel as built. Decided #3 was the least intrusive, although I lose 1/8" of head room... probably no big deal.
Fabricated strips for fore and aft flange from cut offs from wing fairing. Will be slightly more than 1/8" thick when bonded in.
