After FINALLY being able to raise the CHT's on Cylinder's 5 and 6, I decided to go ahead and begin fabricating the new cylinder baffes. For this job I opted for aluminum foil tape to cover the heads and intake runners while allowing for a very firm and conforming layer to layup over. The layups were made of 3 plies UNI and West systems resin. The west has a TG of only 146 F, but to date, I haven't had any issues using it for baffles over the engine. While using these baffles to really dial in the CHT's where I want them, the baffles will simply be trimmed and taped in place for testing. I'm sure it will require about 10 flights to get the temps right where I want them, each time requiring a slight amount of trimming on each side, but WOW has it been a long 5 years trying to get the engine balanced. The reliability and longevity of the engine will thank me for the efforts :) Can't wait to see the final versions and get these painted and installed once and for all.
