Brief Description: More good news, and "maybe" bad news

Today's task was to perform a long cross country flight including at least 30 minutes with the heaters running and drawing heavy loads on the alternator. It was just too good to pass up, I needed flight time and the ocean was calling. I put 15 gallons in her and headed East. 45 min. to Matagorda and 1 hour to come back. I was cruising along at 170kts True at 4500ft, engine was purring, alternator and voltage regulator not missing a beat, so I turned on the Heaters and had to open my air vent. Things were getting warm inside. After a good 20-30 min, I shut em off and called the regulator re-location a huge success. The coolest part is that I lost no speed and my oil temps are unchanged. :) I landed, taxied back and jumped out to a horrible sight on my prop. Large quantities of Black splattered oil all over the blades, coming directly from the air.oil separator exit tube. Oh no, what could this mean? I pulled the cowls and decided the black means an oil change is a must, but before pulling the plug on the sump, I checked my dipstick and what!!!! The oil looks brand new and is Over filled. Well, there ya have it. It took Acetone to remove it from the prop. I think it blew out right after I started up before I left cause it was NOT fresh oil. I then went to clean out the oil inside the exit tube and saw large cakes of black sludge. NOW I GET IT> I added a small amount of MMO to my oil sump and it has REALLY started cleaning my engine. This aint bad news, this is great news! After removing the tube I also noticed I had yet another broken clamp on the exhaust stacks. Must have torqued this one down too much. Easy fix. I decided to take the air filter out of the box to see if there's any RPM gain just for the heck of it. I've also installed a 1" tall VG. Biggest one so far :) Tomorrow's test flights will be fun :)
