Brief Description: Filler, Primer, and Plug Wires

Got a LOT done today. First off, I laid down the second round of filler on both intake plenums, sanded that down and decided, based on experience, to go ahead and brush on some primer. This primer is 2 coats thick and will be a guide coat to tackle the final low spots and pin holes with a final round of filler. If I go to sand the 2 layers of primer and find the build to be thick enough, then I may bypass the whole "final primer spray." This would be a huge convenience as well, knowing that I won't have to remove them again which leads me to the second task of the day.
While the aluminum box plenums are still on the engine, I wanted to get all of the spark plug wires ran. what a task! 12 wires that all need to be routed AND assembled, including solder work. In fact, after deciding on the routes and getting ALL 12 wires ran, I came to the end of my wire spool with less than 1ft. left over. WOW, I'm guessing 50 feet of spark plug wires. LOTS of resistance... I also managed to break yet another coil boot and I'm glad UL sent me more extras than I needed. I'm a little concerned about the lack of distance between the coils and ECU, but RFI hasn't been a problem for other builders yet, so I'm not too worried. Tomorrow, the rest of the oil cooler parts arrive and I hope to have that installation complete. That leaves me 2 days to get this engine install done before leaving for vacation. The rest of the engine wiring will be competed when the avionics crew arrives next month. I will be one happy camper if My engine is done, before I head out. :)
