I hung a plum line through the rudder hinges of the VS to level the VS fore and aft. Two things were apparent. First, the front spar of the VS was too short how that 9/16" was trimmed off per the instructions. The bottom edge of the front spar was lining up with the bottom of the pre-drilled holes of the F-884 Attachment Plate. There was not enough edge distance. It would have been fine had I not removed so much from the front spar as directed. Second, I noticed that the rear spar was not sitting flush with the F-812B Angle/Control Stop because of excess material remaining on the upper longerons.
Some thought and action will be needed before I drill the important attachment holes in the front spar of the VS
