Brief Description: Made U-408 Spacers and Assembled Brake Parts
Made U-408 Spacers and Assembled Brake Parts for installation. The spacers were measured to 11/32" per the drawings. Switched a brake fluid fitting on one of the brake calipers in order to form a left and right caliper. Planned the installation of nutplates on the U-810 L&R pieces. This is the bracket used to mount the inner segments of the wheel fairings. I'll install these next and prime the parts prior to installation.
Test fitted the U-403 Brake Mounting Flange on the Gear Legs. Had to drill the flange holes for attaching the flanges to 5/16". To get the flanges to slide on the legs smoothly, I needed to rub the axles with a piece of Emery cloth to remove some oxides. A little gentle rubbing and the flanges slide on without too much effort. The flanges were removed for the assembly of the wheels and brakes prior to installion onto the gear legs.
