Brief Description:  Installed Infinity grip on Front Stick

Installed Infinity grip on Front Stick. All was going well until I was re-assembling the grip onto the front stick and I damaged the insulation of a wire when I trapped it in one of the screw holes and tried to thread the screw.
The grips include a ring that is supposed to be fitted around the boss during final assembly. First of all, I didn't realize what the boss was until I damaged the wire. The boss is the cylinder on each halve that meet internally through which the fastening screw goes. The purpose of the included ring is to guide the wires around the boss to prevent the wires from getting trapped between the halves during assembly on the stick.
I tried to remove the damage portion of wire and splive the ends together. This just made the wire a hair too short to allow correct re-assembly of the grip. My choices where to unsolder all of the switch connections and re-attach all of the wires at correct lengths or cut all of the wires and re-assemble them at correct lengths to be able to re-assemble the grip. I chose to cut the wires and re-assemble them with d-sub pins and shrink tubing over them. After all of this extra work, I tested the connectons and all had good continuity.
From jthocker's post on Vansairforce.net I got the front stick cut length: "Measuring with a ruler placed on top of the bushing boss I get 8 and 3/8 inches to the bottom of the grip. Add 2 and 1/8 inches inside the grip and you get 10 and 1/2 inches total length.' I followed his advise and the grip and stick passes under the instrument panel with about 1/8-1/4" clearance from the Chinese Hat.
