Brief Description: Installed/Fitted flap position sensor
Installed/Fitted flap position sensor using the hinged mount made earlier, a threaded rod and clevos from the Hobby Store and an Adel Clamp. It took a while to find the nearly correct position for the adel clamp relative to the amount of flap actuator bar movement and the movement range of the positions sensor's moving slide arm. I say nearly correct because I have to get some smaller adel clamps to properly fit the the flap actuator bar. The clamps I have are too large and allow too much movement around the bar to be useable.
I made the moun with a hinge at the top to allow for some movement of the sensor during flap actuation. I thought this would prevent straining of the mount as the flap arm moved through its arc. But the hinge seems to allow too much movement and I don't think I will end up with consistently accurate indications of the flap positions.
I bent a piec of aluminum to an angle the allows good position sensor arm movement without binding and without excessive play. I'll try this mount after I get some adels clamps that will fit snug on the bar.
