Brief Description:  Continued coil combinations

Continued coil combinations but blew more fuses. The surprise that ended todays efforts occurred after I turned the ECU off. There was a loud PHOOOF! backfire. It was totally unexpected! I thought that the supply gas had somehow caught fire. I could understand a backfire of gas fumes in the engine on energizing the circuit, but not while switching the energy off.

Called Jan. After discussing the PHOOF, Jan said that the ECU controls grounding as a matter of functioning. Switching off the switch must have caused a grounding of a coil and therefore a backfire. I inspected the insides of the ECU and described my finding to Jan. I smelled the circuits to see if I smelled smoke but didn't. He said to send the computer to him and he would check it on an engine next week. As fate would have it, we are travelling to the east coast of Florida tomorrow. We will be going by Edgewater, FL on 06/03 and I will deliver the computer then.
