Brief Description: Drilled the elevator hole attachment holes
Talked to Bruce at Van's. He said he is the one who writes/maintains the instructions. He said that the instructions tell how to drill the elevator attachment holes but he wasn't able to find them in the elevator construction instructions or in the attachment instructions on page 8-55. He did describe the procedure quite well. I took a small piece of vent line tubing which is 0.250" O.D. and inserted this into the elevato hinge bearing. Before I could do this, I had to buff some O.D. off. The mic measurement of the tubing was 0.253". The tubing was used to protect the bearing during drilling the pilot holes and to act as a guide. I drilled a #40 pilot hole in each elevator horn with only one elevator on the HS at a time. These holes were enlarged to 1/4" holes in small incremental steps and finally deburred.
