Brief Description: Clamped the lower longeron to gear weldment
Clamped the lower longeron to gear weldment and the lower engine mount on the firewall. The instructions say to place a .063" shim between the lower longeron and the WD-821 Landing Gear Weldment and then clamp tightly. Next, Double clamp the forward end of the longeron to the flange of the lower engone mount weldment. Finally, place a clamp on the longeron at the bend of the floor.
The problem I see with this is that the forward floor falls away from the lower longeron. Placing a side clamp on the longeron and the shim does not address getting the floor flush with the longeron at the WD-821 gear weldment. I placed two 2" x 4" blocks under the firewall and this did improve the situation by decreasing the gap between the floor and the longeron. My concern is that the instructions don't mentioin doing this and I am concerned that this may alter my alignments.
