Brief Description: Troubleshooting Improper Console Switch Function
Troubleshooting Improper Console Switch Function. Most of the switches installed in the right hand console were installed for the selection of the power source for essential avionics. In the normal position, power is supplied and equipment is controlled through the Vertical Power System. In the flipped position, equipment is energize directly from the battery, bypassing the Vertical Power System.
The troubleshooting came to a hold while I tried to make the process easier. I could reach the fuse terminal for the equipment being investigated through the installed access panel in the top of the baggage compartment shelf. But there was some contortion required. I decided to remove the upper bulkhead panel that closes off the tail opening. Unfortunately, 2 of the 5 washer head screws were solidly stuck. One of the screws was removed with an impact driver but the other screw just got a stripped head. I'll need to return to this screw with a screw extractor.
