Brief Description:  Drilled Hole in Lip Above Oil Cooler Inlet for Nut

Drilled Hole in Fiberglass Lip created above Oil Coller Inlet for Nutplate installation. This will be used to secure the cowling halves in this area.

Removed the Cowling to get ready to exchange the AVCS System parts that are part of the timing chain route. The AVCS is variable on a car for the different power ranges that a car transits. The Aircraft application is all at or near full power. Eggenfellner installed pins in the AVCS to prevent adjustments of the system, keeping it in the high power range. There has been a failure of the alteration of the system by Eggenfellner. The locking pin fractured the moveable inner part of the system and allowed the pin to be released into the area of the timing chain. This could have beeen a real problem in flight. The person to which this happened had posted the problem on the Subie News Group and I met this person at Oshkosh. He had a machinist make a solid replacement part for the altered two piece system thus doing away with the need for a locking pin and failure of the coupled parts. After Oshkosh, I contacted the machinist and had a pair of replacement pieces machined.
