Brief Description:  Glued Canopy Shut!

Glued Canopy Shut! The micro mixture that I applied around the handle yesterday extended a bit too far forward when I closed the canopy to form the seal at the aft fairing with the top skin. The little bet of mixture that met up with the windscreen fairing was enough to seal the canopy shut. I tried to carve the hardened mixture out of the jucntion the best I could but in the end I had to damage some of the windscreen fairing to to free the canopy skirt. This was not too bad of a thing. It gave me excuse to better reinforce the thin area of the left transition at the areaa of the canopy skirt insertion. I made a glass/carbon fiber/glass patch after sanding a kurf to accept the patch. Peel ply was applied to the blackened patch. Later, the peel ply was removed and a blackened mixture of epoxy and microballoons was applied over the area.

Sanded the area around the handle. Reapplied some SuperFil to the forward area of the handle transition tp be sanded tomorrow.
