Brief Description: Riveted Stiffeners/Door Supports Around Opening
Riveted Stiffeners/Door Supports Around Opening of the Hat Shelf Access Door Opening. I used 1/8" x 1" aluminum bar for the door supports. After drilling and countersinking the bars, I drilled some lightening holes in the spaces between the rivet holes. To get the door to fit flush with the surface of the hat shelf, I added a 0.025" shim between the shelf and the bar. This seems to be sufficient to accomodate the thicker 0.050" door. I need to add the latch to the door.
