Brief Description:  Re-routed Starter Cable Through Floor Rib

Re-routed Starter Cable Through Floor Rib. I did not like the way I had tried to secure the cable as it passed through one of the floor ribs. The cable came too close to both sides of the rib hole. I wanted a better way of insuring that the cable does not make contact with the sides. With movement and vibrations, any contact with the side could damage the insulation and cause catastrophic failure of this high power cable.

By moving the aluminum angle to which the cable anchoring adel clamp bolts, I was able to better direct the path of the cable through the hole and better secure the cable away from the edges. The angle originally was on the outside of the rib. The mount fit well against the inside of the rib after I had removed material from the angle to accomodate the shape of the hole's stiffening flange. I added a spacer below the adel clamps to provide a bit of lift of the cable as it crossed the mounting angles of the forward and aft rib crossings. Edge protector, similar to that around the edge of the aft lightening hole, was installed after the photo was taken.
