Brief Description: Corrected the Wiring of the Grips PTT Switches
Corrected the Wiring of the Grips PTT (Push-To-Talk) Switches. To work correctly with the audio panel, the PTT switches of each stick grip need to be wired separately. I had joined the wires of both PTT switches at the terminal and had common output wires running forward to the audio panel. With this arrangement, if one person keys the radio switch, both people will be talking simultaneously on the radio. With the grips separated, one will be talking on the radio and the other will still be able to talk just on the intercom.
I will use the already run forward two wires as the Pilot and Copilot PTT switch wires. One of these two wires would have been used as a ground wire but now it will represent one of the grip wires to the audio panel.
What I did was I removed one lead from each of the two PTT Stick Grip Terminal locations. These wires were joined together with another 22 ga wire that serves as a common grounding wire that was run back to the aft grounding terminal. Now both grips share a common ground but they each have a separate PTT wire going forward to the audio panel.
By the way, to work on the Grip Terminal under the Pilot Seat Area required that I work from inside the fuselage. So this was my first time inside the aircraft.
