Brief Description: Fiberglass the Aft Inside of the Tips
Fiberglass the Aft Inside of the Tips to reinforce the areas that had been split and mended during the straightening of the trailing edges of the Tips.
I lightly sanded the fiberglass and then wiped the area with some acetone. Using West System Epoxy with 206 Hardener, I wet the area with epoxy. Next, I layed a strip of 9 Oz. 3" fiberglass tape on the epoxy then brushed some more on until it was all wetted out without any air or wrinkles. To apply the glass into the tight space, I used Sam James idea of using a laparoscopic surgical grasper. With its long reach, I was able to easily place the glass into the lateral narrow and tapering areas of the tip.
