Brief Description: Matched Drilled Tip Edge Reinforcement Strips
Matched Drilled Tip Edge Reinforcement Strips. These 3/4" strips were taped to the inside of the tip edges and drilled with a #26 drill. The reinforcement strips make for sturdier nutplate attachments to the edges but they also serves as a good grounding facilitator for the Archer Antenna to be installed in the Right Tip. This VOR antenna needs to be grounded to the fuselage. The #6 screws that enter the aluminum strips interconnected nutplates from the wings skins are the means for grounding the antenna. The Archer Antenna is sandwiched in with the nutplates, the strips is therefore grounded to the wings' skin through the attaching screws.
