Brief Description: Filled the Fracture lines of the Canopy Skirts
Filled the Fracture lines of the Canopy Skirts with West Systems 403 Microfiber and epoxy slurry. The filler was mixed to a dry peanut butter consistency and applied with a tongue depressor, forcing the mixture into the cracks. Except for the aft end, I tried to use a minimal amount of filler to join the pieces of the fracture lines. In the rear, I added a generous portion of filler to the larger gaps. The biggest problem that I incurred was not being able to get the upper lips of the skirts pulled tight against the canopy with the duct tape even though it seemed this was not a problem during the fitting. The only thing that has changed is that I added mold release to the parts that I believed that would be at risk of having epoxy product contact. Some of the tape that protects the canopy was at risk. The mold release could have contributed to the reduced effectiveness of the duct tape haolding the pieces in place. Anyway, I think the results will be OK. We'll see.
