Brief Description: Drilled and Clecoed Left Wheel Fairing to U-810
Drilled and Clecoed Left Wheel Fairing to U-810 bracket after leveling the fairing vertically and horizontally.
With the wheel bottom is 4.5" off of the floor, the fairing is vertically level with the middle of the aft tip and the mid front pointl at 13.25" off of the floor. This height gives the desired value of 8 5/8" off of the floor for a wheel that would be on the floor.
Horizontally, I dropped a plumb from the center of the tire onto a tape on the floor. This tape perpendicularly intersected a forward and aft tape extended from the aircrafts centerline. From these two tapes, I drew a perpendicular line that passed through the tire center location. This was now the reference line running parallel to the centerline. The fairing was adjusted horizontally until the nose and aft tip were equidistant from the reference line. The inboard U-810 fairing bracket was then drilled to #30 through the translucent fairing using the already drilled and nutplated hole of the bracket. The space between the brackets and the fairing is curved and thus has a changing radius. To get the brackets to fit the fairings correctly, the fairing will now need the space between the fairing and the brackets built up with fiberglass.
