Brief Description: Received the Prop Controller Loaner
Received the Prop Controller Loaner from MT Propeller USA. There had been a mix up and instead of recieving the propeller two days ago, it wasn't sent out untill yesterday when they called for my address that must have been misplaced. Anyway, it arrived today.
I connected the Loaner to the harness connector and tested the system. Unfortunately, nothing good happened. The same lights illuminated and the blades didn't change pitch.
I tried to talk to Juergaen but he wasn't available due to a meeting. I was surfing the MT website when I came across a copy of the Propeller Installation and Operation Manual. I happened to open it to the connector wiring page and ws surprised to see what I saw. It showed two ways to configure the controller connector. One way was the way that my instructions said to do it and then there was another way that had an extra power wire pin and an extra ground pin. The big difference was that the way that my instructions showed was for controllers with round plugs and where manufactured before 1997. My controller was manufactured in 2004 and has a dSub connector. The online manual showed that my connector needed the extra power wire and the extra ground. The connector was the problem. I looked at my instructions to see what date they were printed. It showed 2002. I don't understand why instructions 7 years after the connector change still showed the only wiring configuration was that used in pre-1997 controllers. Anyway, I need to change the connector wiring.
