Brief Description: Mounted the Vertical Power Control Unit
Mounted the Vertical Power Control Unit. The Unit is light, weighing about 3 lbs. I used 1" x 3/16" aluminum bar stock to make two bars that fit side-to-side between the intermediate longerons, aft of the elevator bellcrack. After final fitting the of the bars, 1/4" holes were drilled in the bars and longeron. The CU was fitted to the bars and attachment hole locations were marked and drilled. The bars were surface converted and the areas of the longeron in contact with the bars was stripped of epoxy primer, buffed and suface converted, These areas in contact with the bars will be good fuselage ground contact points for the batteries and for the CU should it need grounding.
