Brief Description:  Installed heater in forward right corner

Installed heater in forward right corner after drilling two holes in the firewall for the heater core inlet/outlet. I started the holes with a 3/16" bit then enlarged the holes with a Unibit. I filed the holes to insure clearance of the copper tubes from the edges of the forewall holes. I riveted four K1000-3 nutplates on the 3/4" x 3/4" angle that is attached to the fan housing. Using the nutplates as templates, I center punched the firewall and drilled holes for the AN3-5A bolts and washers that secures the heater to the firewall.

After installing the heater, I decided that I will mount the Vertical Power Control Unit (CU) iECUn the aft fuselage. This will leave me an accessible space in the forward baggage compartment to mount the Subaru ECU. Additionally, having the CU in the back should help wil W&B CG.

I also decided to mount the main and aux engine fuse blocks in the rear and run the wires forward to their switch. This eliminates the need for two ANL fuse holders. In theory, if one circuit shorts, the other circuits will still be available. With the ANL, if the ANL blows, all circuits of the block are lost. With the Subaru, this reason is meaningless since all circuits are necessary for the engine to run. But if I use the extra circuits of the block for backup power to an essential flight equipment, then this line of logic will be meaningful. I fabricated the fuse block holders from some 1/2" x 1/2" angle and 0.032 alluminum. Once satisfied with the mount, its parts were surface converted and primed.

Cut 1" x 3/16" Aluminum bar stock to fit between the intermediate longerons aft of the aft baggage compartment. I will be mounting the CU in the upper spaces of the aft fuselage. Here will be in unused space and it should not be in the way of any future wire runs.
