Brief Description: Started installation of the TruTrak Roll Servo
Started installation of the TruTrak Autopilot Roll Servo. The suggested installation location is on the left side of the fuselage, inboard on the left inboard seat rib and forward of the roll trim servo. I first drilled out the rivets that matched the servo mounting bracket. To do this, I had to drill with a mirror. What a PITA! When I fitted the top holes of the bracket and the holes of rivets removed from the rib, the bracket aft side overlapped the pullet rivets of the roll trim servo bracket. This would not do. Others had mentioned mounting the servo on the right side because of concerns of interference between the servo wires and the roll push-pull tubes. This is where I decided to mount my servo. Now all I had to do is drill out two more rivets from the inbouard seat rib. What a royal PITA. I ended up slightly elongating the holes. No problem. I will fabricate a back patch when I do rivet the assembly together.
