Brief Description:  Removed blocks from under the firewall per Bruce

Removed blocks from under the firewall per Bruce and techs at Van's. Bruces email says to clamp the longerons to the landing gear weldments without regard to the angle of the forward brace at this time. Clamp the longeron to the forward firewall weldment and insure the angles of the longeron are correct. I could also make a #30 drill hole in the longeron and the gear weldment in the last hole of the floor and place a cleco there to hold it all together. Then hold/attach the side skins to check the aligment of the longeron with the brace. The side skins should align everything.

I side clamped the lower longeron and the weldment with the shim in place, disregarding the rising/diverging angle of the weldmwnt relative to the longeron. I double clamped the firewall connection. I clamped the longeron at the bend in the floor. I could not drill and cleco the longeron and the weldment because of the still remaining large gap between the lower weldment and the lower longeron angle on the floor.

Time to email Bruce again with pictures. How am I supposed to make a #30 drill hole in the longeron and the gear weldment in the last hole of the floor and place a cleco there to hold it all together when there is such a large gap? With the longeron appearing to lay flat on the floor, is the longeron ready to drill?
