Brief Description: Drilled landing gear and weldments with reamer
Drilled landing gear and weldments with a 0.311" reamer. The gear legs fit VERY fit in the weldment initially. I wiped the weldment interiors with some steel wool and then used liberal light oil to presuade the gear into the weldment. At some points, I thought I had myself some stuck legs in the tube. I ordered the reamer for the job. I wanted tight, accurate holes for the gear retention bolts.
Drilled the replacement F-802R-R to the Fwd Floor and F-802-VPP. Drilled the #40 plateneut holes then correctly this time countersunk the holes. Deburred the holes and edges.
Temporarily attached the F-849 Fwd Control Mount to the F-804A forward side with a bolt in the already drilled hole. Squared the mount with the F-804A upper flange and clamped it in place. Using the corresponding hole in the F-804A, I drilled the second mounting hole in the F-849 with the #12 drill. This hole was deburred.
Fluted the F-804C-AL/AR/FL/FR pieces, avoiding the noted as DO NOT FLUTE areas.
Attached the F-804C-FR/FL pieces to the F-804A and final drilled the #30 holes.
Drilled and countersunk platenut holes on veriticals of F804C-FL/FR.
