Brief Description: Readied the wing skeletons for the skins
Readied the wing skeletons for the skins by:
1. Machine Countersinking the skin rivet holes in the spar flanges. I started countersinking with the B&D cordless drill set on high torque setting. This worked well for me when I made my first countersunk holes, the ones on the spar for the tank attachment screw holes and the associated platenuts. When the battery went dead, I decided to try the pneumatic drill with the microstop fitting that I use with the B&D drill. Man, did this speed up the task! Being more careful due to the higher speed and torque, I was able to countersink at least twice as fast with good results. Another good lesson learned. The W-423 Joint Plates were dimpled and these holes were slightly reamed out with the deburring bit to facilitate the fit of the skins, plate and the leading edge rib. These holes were also surface converted.
2. Suface converted the countersunk holes
3. Deburring the main ribs of the wings and the rear spars.
Tomorrow, I'll dimple the main ribs and rear spar.
