Brief Description:  Attempted to Attach the Left Wing

Attempted to Attach the Left Wing. The key work is Attempted. The major problem was that the bolts passed through the spar but impacted upon a lip of the landing gear weldment on the front of the fuselage spar box. These bolts were not going to pass without some type of intervention. Adding insult to injury, these bolts, particularly the bottom ones, were not going to come out easily. They were driven in using a low setting on the rivet gun. The fix appeared to be complex and daunting. Combined with trying to do too much with the plane and around the house before going out of town for a while, I was in no mood for this new situation. Surprisingly, I felt pretty good walking away from the situation until I returned.

Another oversight also required that the wing be removed. I had envisioned being able to finish the wing wiring and connection of the connectors with the wing in place. I later realized that the only workable space is forward of the spar, I could make the fuel connections but not the electrical connections between the wing and the fuselage. It also became apparent that some of the wires that I had wired to a fuselage connector aft of the spar had to be re-routed through the spar box and forward of the wing spar tongue to the front of the wing. These wires were for the fuel level sensor and the Fuel Guardian that are part of the fuel tank, forward of the spar.
