Brief Description:  Applied Nomex Honeycomb to the Cowling Interior

Applied Nomex Honeycomb to the Cowling Interior. I mixed fast Epoxy with micro and cabosil to thicken the epoxy. The epoxy was rollered onto the cowling interior then the nomex honeycomb pieces were fit into place. Used sand in Ziplock bags to weigh the honeycomb down and hold it in place against the cowling. Because of the need to hold the honeycomb in place until it cured, only single sections will be able to be done at one time. This will be a slow but progressive process. The honeycomb will be used as a sandwich held in place by the cowling on one side and a yet to be layed layer of glass over the interior surace of the honeycomb. This layup will give stiffness at a lower weight.
