Brief Description: Made a 13.5" Prop Disc for Mounting the Cowling
Made a 13.5" Prop Disc for Mounting the Cowling. The disc is made up of two separate discs that are glued together. The forward most disc was made from 3/4" plywood. This disc had a 2.25" hole cut in the center to fit over the Prop Flange Boss. The back mounted disc was made out of 1/2" fiberboard and its center was cut to a 6.25" opening. I had to made several attempts to get the aft disc right because the cut lines angled inward or outward while using a sabersaw. I corrcted this by using a fly cutter to get a very nice hole. One the two discs were made, I attached the forward disc to the prop flange using 3/8" bolts then glued the aft disc to the aft side of the forward disc. The aft disc fits over the prop flange and is flush with the aft side of the prop flange. This discwill be used to set the 0.25" gap between the prop flange and the cowling.
