Brief Description:  Sanded the Right Side Canopy Skirt Transition

Sanded the Right Side Canopy Skirt Transition of the Windscreen Fairing. Applied a glass/carbon/glass fiber layering to the right side to reinforce the transition area.

Sanded and re-applied blackened epoxy/micro/flox to the left transition. Later, sanded after the mixture setup. The lower aft edge of the fairing where the canopy skirt loos too thin still. Applied tape to the left canopy skirt and then applied some mold release. Applied some epoxy/flox mixture to the bottom, aft inside corner of the fairing. Closed the canopy to allow forming of the mixture in the thin area between the skirt and the interior serface of the fairing.

I ground and filed a brass bushing, I had ordered from McMaster and Carr, that fits over the latch handle shaft as it protrudes exteriorly above the skirt. The bushing trimmed shaft then sits on top of the tubing of the canopy frame through which the latching handle shaft projects. The bushing takes up the slack between the bottom of the exterior handle and the carved out canopy skirt. The skirt needed to be carved out to allow the exterior handle to insert far enough onto the interior latch handle shaft to drill a hole for a retaining screw. The shaft was just a bit too short without carving the fiberglass. This goes back to the problem introduced with the slightly thicker distance introduced with the addition of a layer of SikaFlex to glue the skirt to the canopy.
