Configured GRT EFISs for ADS-B with help from the GRT Rep. Serial port #7 on Hx #2 configured for ADS-B. Deleted TIS selection on Serial #6 on the Hx #1. The problem noted was that there wasn't any counts on the Serial 7 counter after the configuration. GRT advised contacting Approach FastStacks for advice.
After discussions with Tim Haas at Approach, it was discovered that a miscommunication occurred with the last installation of the newest Configurator Plug. The wiring to the ADS-B had changed between the original box that I had and the returned, upgrade box that I installed. The cable that Approach made had to have a wire ran by me from theTransponder Pin 33 position to the ADS-B 20 Pin position. This was done but there was still a problem at the GRT EFIS with it not having a Serial 7 count. Further discussions with Approach revealed another miscommunication. There are 2 unused Serial 7 wires from the Hx #2 that are labelled "For Future Use". These wires needed to be run to the ADS-B for the display inputs from the ADS-B. The wires were run to the ADS-B and Voila! There is a serial count on the Serial 7 port of EFIS #2.
