Brief Description:  Fitting the Canopy Skirt 2

Trimmed the aft ends of the skirt halves and connected the halves with a scrap of aluminum and clecos. Got the skirts to fit fairly well except for the top lips and the very aft end. I fractured the skirts right where the lip bends at the top. To do this, I made a cut the entire length of the top at the bend line. The cut was made as deep as possible without cutting through entirely. There are places where the skirt is cut through but this is not important. The goal is to free the upper portion to move against the canopy. This worked very well. The aft end required that the upper lip be separated in order to lay satisfactory. I did an additional trim on the left skirt because as I put the aft halves together, the left one seemed too long now after the fracture. I discovered later that the aft halves were OK but now the laft upper lip fracture allowed the lower portion to move differently and any strain on the part made the skirt bulge about 2/3 down its length. I didn't notice this until after the extra trim. Now I have a wider gap between the halve. This too is not important. I will probably glass the aft end, replacing all of the aft skirt to get a good shape and fit.
