Brief Description:  Riveted the Aft Top Skin to the Fuselage

Riveted the Aft Top Skin to the Fuselage. This required the removal of the Vertical Power Control Unit and its mount from the fuselage. All of the Adel Clamps securing the wiring bundles needed to be released. The Wiring bundles had to be gently placed along the floor and heavily padded in order to get enough maneuvering room to be able to rivet the Aft Top Skin. All of this I was greatly hoping would not have to be done. This was not only because of the time spent securing the bundles. I believe that there is an increased risk of both bundle injury and errors of omission or commission during the efforts now needed to return the aft electrical wiring to their secure state. The bottom line is that it needed to be done and as a result, I now have an aft top skin with which I am very happy. The only part not riveted to the top skin is the Rear Passenger Shoulder Straps Anchors. These anchors use an AN5 bolt that I needed to order. With the anchors riveted in place, it may be very difficult or impossible to put the bolt into the anchor from the top due to small annchor to skin clearance. I'll wait until the bolts arrive for a test fit before riveting the anchors.
All of todays work was made possible by my son Tim's valiant efforts. He crawled into the ever narrowing workspace, putting up with the heat, the jabbing protrusions, the reduced ventilation and yet still patiently persisted until the job was done. I am very proud of him and thankful for having him to be not just a great assistant but also a keen observer who quickly notices things that need attention or that can possibly be done better. Very Well Done!
