Brief Description:  Installed First Tire on a Wheel

Installed First Tire on a Wheel. I powdered the wheel with tire talc, put the tube in the tire and removed the valve from the stem. Air was puffed into the stem enough to give the tire form within the tire. The tube's stem needed to be fit through a rubber grommet in the side of one of the wheel halves. A touch of oil helped with the insertion of the stem through the grommet. The wheel halves were fit together and the bolts were torqued to the manufacture's spec of 90 in-lbs. The vstem valve was replaced and the tire was inflated and deflated several times to seat the tube in the tire. The tire bead is well seated. The tire was inflated about 5 pounds above the needed pressure of about 35 lbs to compensate for air trapped between the tube and tire that will defuse out over the next several days.
