Brief Description: Replaced the ELT Mounting Plate
Replaced the ELT Mounting Plate attached between the longerons of the right side of the aft tail cone. The old plate was just a bit too short to mount the ELT and the Fuses Panels already installed. The plate was formed from 0,040" 2024 T3 because I wanted strength to secure the ELT mounting bracket during high deceleration forces.
The fabrication and mounting of the plate went well. I did have to make another #10 cable from the aft power terminal to the forward mounted fuse panel which was moved forward a small amount.
When I tried to secure the ELT to the mount, the fuse panels interfered with the attachment d-ring to the hook and closure of the release levers. To fix this, I'll have to flip the ELT securing bands to have t he closure on the bottom of the ELT. I'll do this tomorrow.
