Brief Description:  Made 16 Nuts for the Avionics Mounting Rail

Made 16 Nuts for the Avionics Mounting Rail using 3/8" aluminum from a strapped HS stiffener. I'm glad I had this strap because it is not easily found. Both large hardware stores only had 1/4" bars.

After cutting a 7/16" x 10" strip from the scrap, #36 holes were drilled about 1" apart then tapped for 6-32 screws. I ordered some flat head hex fitting screws as recommended. I also ordered some six-lobe #6 screws for the wing tips. Once cut, the strip will yield nuts 7/16" x 7/16" x 3/8". These nuts will slide inside the mounting rail and allow for easy adjustment of each tray in the stack. The mounting rail will provide great strength and stiffness to the mounting of the avionics.
